Meeting with a high-level UAE delegation in Islamabad, Prime Minister Sharif discussed the recent changes made in Pakistan.
He mentioned progress in digital governance, the use of paperless economic systems, and the start of identity-less customs processes.
He made it clear that Pakistan wanted to replicate what the UAE had done well to improve data-driven decision-making and promote good governance.

UAE and Pakistan: A New Era of Government Collaboration.
Pakistan and the United Arab Emirates have begun collaborating to reform their respective governance systems. This is a significant step for their relationship.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif reiterated that Pakistan seeks to enhance its relationship with the UAE and collaborate with them in several key areas.
As part of the UAE group was Hamad Obaid Al Zaabi. The UAE Ambassador to Pakistan and Abdulla Nasser Lootah, Assistant Minister of Cabinet Affairs for Competitiveness and Knowledge Exchange.
Sharif discussed his recent trip to Abu Dhabi and the importance of meeting with Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the President of the UAE.
He praised the UAE’s continued support for Pakistan’s growth and its vital role in the country.
PM Sharif saw a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) being signed after the meeting. This formalised the strategic relationship between the UAE and Pakistan to bring the government up to date.
Abdulla Lootah and Ahsan Iqbal, who is Pakistan’s Federal Minister for Planning, Development, and Special Initiatives, signed the MoU.
Good governance, development planning, areas, and human public sector reform. Hand key human capital development, urban planning, and advances in science and technology are just some of the key areas that the partnership addresses.
The agreement aims to facilitate the sharing of information, strengthen institutions, and establish modern, adaptable government processes.
Lootah stated that the friendship demonstrates both the UAE and Pakistan’s desire to collaborate more in the public sector.
At different times, the UAE group met with Minister Ahsan Iqbal and Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar.
Minister of State for Finance Bilal Azhar Kayani was also there. The primary objective of the talks was to enhance relations between the two countries. Particularly in areas such as governance, institutional development, and innovative ideas for the public sector.
