With a strong throw of 86.40 meters, Pakistan’s great javelin thrower Arshad Nadeem took home the gold medal at the Asian Athletics Championships final. Everyone in the country was pleased.

The Olympic record was set by Nadeem at the Paris 2024 Games, with a throw of 92.97 meters. His result was almost as impressive as the Asian Championship record of 86.72 meters.

He secured the first place on the podium due to his consistent performance throughout the event, with his excellent throw serving as the crowning achievement.

Sachin Yadav of India won silver this year with a throw of 85.16 meters, and Yuta Sakiyama of Japan won bronze with a throw of 83.75 meters.

With a strong opening throw of 75.64 meters, Pakistan’s top javelin thrower got the Asian Athletics Championships competition off to a fantastic start.

Yasir Sultan: Pakistan’s Rising Star in Athletics

Another athlete from Pakistan, Yasir Sultan, was the second person from that country to participate in the final. 

His first throw was 70.53 meters, but his second attempt was significantly better; he threw an impressive 75.39 meters.

While the competition was going on, Arshad threw 76.60 meters, which was farther than his previous best. He kept up his steady pace.

Yasir’s throw of 75.50 meters in the third round was marginally better. However, Arshad threw 85.57 meters, a considerable distance and a new personal best. 

He threw the best ball of the game so far. His exceptional performance propelled him to the top of the group standings.

Arshad Nadeem did better than his closest competitors, and after his third try, he was in the lead for the gold title. He moved ahead of everyone else on the final score.

Yasir’s fourth try, which went 72.92 meters, didn’t quite work out. Nadeem, on the other hand, kept up his excellent form with another strong throw of 83.99 meters. At the end of the fourth round, Nadeem was still in first place.

With a fantastic first throw of 86.34 meters on Friday in Group A, the javelin star made it to the final.

Nadeem is the first Pakistani to win a gold medal at the Asian Athletics Championships in nearly 50 years.

In 1973, Allah Dada won the javelin throw, and Muhammad Younis won the 800 meters at the same event in the Philippines. This is Pakistan’s first gold medal since then.

He also holds the record for the most athletics medals won by a single person at the Olympics and for Pakistan at the Summer Games.

Nadeem has received medals from the Olympics, World Championships, Commonwealth Games, Asian Games, South Asian Games, and Asian U20 Championships. 

He has won four gold, one silver, and four bronze medals thus far.

Crown Prince of Sindh, Murad Ali Shah, praised Arshad and promised that his government would do everything possible to assist him.

Arshad’s work was also commended by Ayaz Sadiq, Speaker of the National Assembly. He claimed that his triumph restored happiness to the entire nation.

In the last round of the event in South Korea, Arshad Nadeem threw the javelin 75.64 meters on his first try. Each throw made him better.

He threw 85.57 meters on his third attempt, and after leading for most of the rounds, his final throw of 86.40 meters secured him the gold title.

He was the first Pakistani athlete to win a gold medal in the Asian Games since 1973.

His remarkable success has led to rallies all over Pakistan, inspiring players and sports fans across the country.
